Hello, I am looking for any information on my great, great, great grandfather who lived in Scarborough, North Yorkshire in 1834 when he was a boot/shoemaker. I believe he was born in 1800 but I am not sure. If anyone has any additional information it would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Bronco,

I've been researching the Davisons of Scarborough for my nephew who is also a Davison.

It seems that Theophilus Davison was the brother of his gt gt gt grandfather. Their parents were Henry Davison and Frances nee Revis who married in Scarborough on 31 Jan 1800. There were three brothers Henry Davison bapt Scarborough 18/2/1801 Theophilus Davison bapt 5 Nov 1809 and Thomas Davison bapt 13 Dec 1803.

Henry Davison b ca 1800/01 who I havebeen researching was a mariner and ship owner. It seems the family may also have had a sailor's pub in Scarborough.

I should be ineterested to hear what you have discovered about Theophilus. It looks as if his widow married Robert Knaggs.

Best,

Tjapaltjarri
