In 1851 Mary is in Paisley with two children living with her brother-in-law Samuel ANGEL.

I'd like a look up for Thomas in 1851 please. He could be in England or Scotland.

I can only guess that either Thomas stayed behind in Lancashire or he went ahead of the family. That means I'd suggest looking in Cheshire /Lancs in England or Renfrewshire or Dunbartonshire in Scotland.

Thanks for looking.

He's probably a lodger and probably transcribed under some weird variation of the name.

Oh. He was born in Paisley 20 Feb 1820 - I know because I looked up the fiche while I was in Paisley 4 years ago - 573.3/6 FR1015.

Later census have him as born England and one even says Kent.

He has changed occupations so I won't guess what 1851 might say.
