Thanks Geoff.

Don't know who this might be:

United Kingdom, Maritime Births, Marriages, and Deaths
Name Angel
Event Type Death
Event Date 16 Mar 1870
Ship Name Beltana

Thomas junior and family will take a bit of sorting out when I return.

Catch you later Geoff.

Going back to Stephen, there is this..

UK, Apprentices Indentured in Merchant Navy, 1824-1910
Name: Stephen Angel
Age: 14
Birth Year: abt 1831
Registration or Indenture Date: 15 May 1845
Vessel: Minerva

Having trouble getting the image at present..

Geoff

Hi Geoff.

Please email a copy of that Indenture.

Stephen Angel - no. 106507 - born 5/11/1830 Paisley. Became Apprentice aged 15 - when unemployed resides in Paisley.
Issued at Glasgow 19/5/1845 - physical description 5'8", brown hair, fair complexion, hazel eyes.

Port numbers indicate Greenock.

The ticket before or after that is another lad from Paisley and the port numbers /vessels are the same (hard to trace the name of the vessels from the rotation mumbers) so they travelled together.

Don't know why but that's one year out. He was born 5 Nov 1831 according to the fiche in Paisley Library.

Also a Seamans Ticket for brother Thomas. Born 1820 but ticket says 1823. Also Greenock and he made only one voyage it seems.

Thanks Geoff.

The physical description is good to add to the tree.

Trying to find the names of the vessels probably requires a visit to Kew.

Please look for a similar Indenture for a John? /David? Rose age 14 or 15

Ticket no 106506 or 106508 - one before or after Stephens.

I can't read parts of that.

Something above his name with the date 25/2/47

And the word after Galbraith ... ?

And above the word Minerva ... 153 ??

Term of 4 years 15 May 1845 - 15 May 1849.

And the word after Galbraith ... ?
Found the one above = John Adams... Still working on that as not found a transcription yet.

In the meantime:
This is the word after Gilbraith, enlarged as high as possible at present, if you can't decipher it do you want it sending?
