Not only that Dave, I can't find a birth for David Ainley either. Do we know how old he was when he married Martha??

Thanks Geoff.

Thanks Amanda.

Thanks Ellie.

I was just filling in the Probate details and found David mentioned which set me off. Had no idea there was a connection with Victoria.

David OXLEE

Betty Oxley
Marriage 9 Jun 1805
Parish: Kirkburton, All Hallows
Spouse's Name: Charles Booth
Wit: John Oxley, John Woodhouse

No. 190
James Armitage of the Parish Kirkheaton
Elizabeth Oxley of this Parish (Kirkburton)
Married in this Church by Banns
this 23 Day of September 1811 By me O. Lodge Curate
Both by their mark

Two baptisms, two marriages and two burials, but can they be sorted not relying on age at death as the only clue. Both as Betty 50 in 1841 census.

Thanks,

Just to confuse things Dave,I found this one:

First name(s) Betty
Last name Oxley
Name note -
Marriage year 1814
Marriage date 19 May 1814
Marriage place Mirfield
Spouse's first name(s) John
Spouse's last name Webster
Residence Mirfield, York, England
County Yorkshire
Country England
Record set England Marriages 1538-1973
Category Birth, Marriage, Death & Parish Records
Subcategory Marriages & divorces
Collections from Great Britain

Probably not one of yours, but I thought I would mention it anyway :)

And I've found a closer one:

Name: Betty Oxley
Event Date: 5 Mar 1804
Event Type: Marriage
Parish: Kirkburton, All Hallows
Spouse's Name: Joseph Golder

Three witnesses but a bit faded to read

Did Betty have a sister Hannah?? because it looks like there was a double wedding. Hannah married a Joseph Moorhouse on 23rd September too.

Hannah's baptism:

Name: Hannah Oxlee
Event Date: 15 Jul 1784
Event Type: Baptism
Parish: Kirkburton, All Hallows
Father's name: Richard Oxlee

Thanks Amanda.

Should be at least one more baptism then for a Betty.

Jonathan Oxlee
Baptism 15 Sep 1787 Kirkburton, All Hallows
Father Rchard Oxlee

No sign of a relative in 1841 census to help us.

Dave
