Could someone check the address in the 1911 census please for this chap.

He is either a shoemaker, or Manufacturer of shoes. But was the founder of Barkers Shoes in Earls Barton, along with his son Arthur E. Barker c1888. Earls Barton.

Arthur E Barker was living in Sunnyside, Earls Barton, in 1911.

The Arthur Barker at Sunny Side in 1911 is with his father ARTHUR and mother MARTHA - have you got the correct Arthur???? or the wrong father?

Thomas Barker Jun 1903 Wellingborough 3b 79 age 39 which gives a birth year of 1864, same as that given in all the Censuses.

(All of Thomas Barker's children, as listed in 1901 Census had mmn Smart. Thomas married an Elizabeth Maria Smart in 1884)

1911 Census only has 2 Arthur Barkers born c1888 Earls Barton. One is the son of Arthur Barker whom I gave in 1911 Census at Sunnyside. The other is an Arthur Ernest Barker who is working as a Cowman on a farm near Coventry.

In 1939 Arthur E Barker born 27 Aug 1887 is living in Wellingborough occ Cowman.

Have a look at the Barker shoes web site www.barker-shoes.co.uk. It gives a potted history of the company which was founded in 1880 by Arthur Barker, presumably the Arthur Barker living in Sunnyside in 1911
