Yes, I'm thinking. Probably better posted on another board. Births, deaths & census in Scotland.

This is probably the mother who was still alive as of 1852.

This does not fit:

Death 1882/B15290 Aitken George - Robert Aitken - Isabella Borthwick

Shipping record has James & Isabella.

Looking for a death for Thomas and neither fit for born abt 1826.

1877/C1478 Thomas Aitken - - ** aged 57 years

1897/C4199 Thomas Aitken - - ** born Scotland aged 80 years

I can't find George and Thomas in 1841 or 1851.

I can't find Margaret in 1851.

It must be an error in his reg naming his father as Robert.

But I also keep finding a Thomas & Isabella so is the shipping record correct saying James & Isabella. Both dead by 1852 but dead before 1851 and/or 1841 census?

They must be brothers but I can't find them together in 1841.

Thomas AITKEN & Margaret STOREY/STORIE married in July 1851 but I still can't find him in 1851 (30 March). He is listed as a shepherd on shipping record in 1852 so he is not a mason or a medical student or ...

I have Margaret in 1851 but can't find her in 1841.

Yes. The Robert bit matches but for some reason I wrote 'Robert and ? Storey' so I can't say it was Elizabeth or not on the film.

Have a bit of a problem with son John CAIRNS b. abt 1843.

Shipping record says St Cuthberts parish Edinboro and 1851 census has St Ninians Stirling.
