Thanks Amanda.

I'm working from this 1857 shipping record ...

Charles 30 Garden Labourer or ... ? Marylebone Middlesex Thomas Webb & Charlotte Father dead Mother living at Islington
Mary 31 House Servant Croydon Surrey Samuel Cosstick & Mary living at Croydon CofE

and this baptism ...

Charles Webb
Record Type: Baptism
Baptism Date: 4 Apr 1827
Father: Thomas Webb
Mother: Charlotte Webb
Parish or Poor Law Union: St Marylebone Christ Church
Borough: Westminster
Register Type: Parish Registers
[b. 8 Nov 1826]
[2 William St Portland Square, Laborer]

and this marriage ...

22 Jun 1851 - St Pancras Church
No. 164
Charles Webb
Full age
Bachelor
Occ Messenger
Residence Union St
Father Thomas Henry Webb (dead)
Mary Cosstick
Full age
Spinster
Residence Union St
Father Samuel Cosstick - Farmer
Witnesses - Joseph Matthews - Mary Anne Staples

and this death ...

Deaths Jun Qtr 1851
Webb Thomas Islington 3 185

Trying to find Thomas and Charlotte in 1841 and 1851. Trying to find son Charles in 1841 and 1851 and trying to find Mary Cosstick in 1841 and 1851.

So, if there is no Thomas and Charlotte together in 1841 then perhaps the 1851 death is not the right one for Thomas. From shipping record he had died by 1857. From the marriage he had died by 22 Jun 1851. He may have died before 1841 census.

We know Charlotte was alive in 1857. We have no age and no pob.

I chose that Charlotte out of several possibles in Middlesex in 1841 because of the shared Sub-RD with Thomas.

Having problems with all the names in St Pancras, so was wondering if Thomas and Charlotte were from somewhere else and found this:

Name: Thomas Webb
Gender: Male
Marriage Date: 4 Oct 1826
Marriage Place: Chesham-Bois, Buckingham, England
Spouse: Charlotte Plested
FHL Film Number: 1999163
Reference ID: item 3

It's at the end of the London tube. Or it could be these:

Name: Thomas Webb
Spouse: Charlotte Kemble
Record Type: Banns
Event Date: 4 May 1823
Parish: St Mary, Putney
Borough: Wandsworth
Register Type: Parish Register

But the orginal says they are widower and widow.

I think this could be Thomas' baptism:

Name: Thos Henry Webb
Baptism Date: 12 Sep 1804
Parish: St Marylebone
County: Middlesex
Borough: Westminster
Parent(s): Wm,
Susanna
Record Type: Baptism
Register Type: Parish Register

Looking like Charlotte wasn't born in London so it could be either of those marriages

Thanks Amanda.

I have Mary's parents in 1841 and 1851 and their deaths. Other children with them but not Mary.

I was hoping to find other baptisms but seems Charles is the only one. I was wondering if Union street in the marriage was any help finding Charles in 1851.

Re Charlotte, the only clue we have is that she was in Islington in 1857.

If it's the 1816 marriage and probable death for Thomas in 1830 there is only one baptism, that for Charles in 1827.

Baptisms for Caroline and Charlotte? Children in census in post #2.

Charles with age rounded down to 10 ?? Or it's the wrong family.

BTW that was a possible baptism for Thomas not Mary.
Having trouble loading Ancestry, may have to come back later.

If burial can be found that one should be abt 77.

A daughter Eliza born Marylebone abt 1833 - after possible death of Thomas.

1842 marriage should show widower and widow

and the address will help. Check it against the address of census in post #2.

It will lead us to a real problem.

Charlotte Leech Head Widow 61 Laundress Oxfordshire
Charles Webb son Unm 24 Plasterer Battersea Surrey

Shipping record in 1857 says Charles was a garden labourer from Marylebone.

Daughter Mary Ann age 2 in 1857 from Islington.

Thanks Geoff.

Yes, Cumberland Market.

Pity we can't find more baptisms.

We had better check there is no Charles born Battersea in census after 1857.
