346/1846 V1846346 31C EDWARDS THOMAS - GRAY OR GREY ELIZABETH - MC

I've searched this site and can't find the topic that fits the above marriage and the search for a death/burial for Thomas. I'm presuming Elizabeth remarried.

I looked for this burial on film at the library and didn't find it. No age.

EDWARDS THOMAS 927/1846 V1846927 31

There are two other possible burials for Thomas.

Can't remember where this fits in my tree.

Seems we have x2 Elizabeth Gray/Grey.

I have an image of the marriage at the top of post #1 to transcribe now. When it's posted the problem will be obvious.

Page 42
Marriages solemnized in the Parish of St. Saviour in the County of Argyle in the Year 1846
No. 165
Thomas Edwards of Mummell, Bachelor
Elizabeth Gray [crossed out and Grey added] of Pejah, Spinster
married in this Church by Banns with consent of -
this fifth day of March 1846 By me William Sowerby
Parties signed: T. Edwards, Elizabeth Gray her x mark
Witnesses: George Grey his x mark of Pejah, B Hawkins of Goulburn

Same church but can't be a remarriage as it's still Gray/Grey in 1851 not Edwards, so 2x Elizabeth.

George could be Elizabeth's father.

Pajah = Pejar

This may or may not be a 2nd marriage

1911/1859 JACKSON JACOB - BRISTOW ELIZABETH - GOULBURN * 8 Jun 1859

Then this

Death 13590/1909 JACKSON ELIZABETH - GEORGE - MARY - GUNNING * 13 Dec 1909

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney, NSW) - Thu 16 Dec 1909 p.5
THE COUNTRY
GUNNING, Wednesday.
Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson, an old resident of the district, died on Monday, aged 79.

Age and parents fit the Elizabeth Gray/Grey baptised 1830.

It is not at all clear.

How much of that tree to believe??

If Elizabeth baptised 1830 married first Edwards and then Jackson where is the Jackson - Edwards marriage in 1859? Not there.

Only one Elizabeth baptism in NSW index with parents George & Mary and that's 1830. If witness George is her father then I can't see how that Elizabeth Edwards dies in 1909 as Jackson.

If the Elizabeth who dies as Jackson with parents George & Mary first married Bristow than we have no baptism for a 2nd Elizabeth with parents who fit.

Thanks Val.

I can't see how it is possible.

Marriage V1851429 37B/1851 BRISTOW JOHN - GRAY ELIZABETH MC= St Saviour Goulburn

That would have to be Elizabeth Edwards.

You've got to wonder if Elizabeth was a bit naughty in 1851 when she married John B, the death of a John Bristow 1859 has wife as Betsy GRAY, late EDWARDS on the cert.

No George Gray there as a witness. Didn't marry as 'Betsy' as the image has Elizabeth.

I dunno Geoff.

Pity I can't find where Cotton Valley is/was.

Note.-Reserving for public use the existing road 1 chain wide, from Cotton Valley to Goulburn, ...
She recalled on a number of occasions that on the day her father reached Goulburn he saw two bodies hanging from gibblets at Cotton Valley, now Gundary Plains. ...
South of Goulburn half way to Quialigo.

Pejar is 3x as far from Goulburn to the NW.

1846 marriage Elizabeth from Pejah = Pejar.

Middle Creek where George and Elizabeth died is very close to Pejar.
