DEATHS
FIELD.-April 27, at his residence, Regent-street, Chippendale, Mr. Thomas Field, sen., aged 62 years, leaving a widow and large family to mourn their loss.

Yes, one says 62 and the other 64. There are also 9x Thomas FIELD convicts who arrived in Australia but I think the pottery connection means this one must have married in England. The 1843 marriage was his 2nd but probably the only one in Australia.

A6131 Ginger beer bottle, stoneware, Thomas Field, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1850-1860
Thomas Field learnt his trade in the 'Pottery Brick and Tile Manufacturer' in Barnet, Hertfordshire near London. He had been born in the same place in 1815 and moved to Sydney in 1842. He set up a pottery at the south end of George Street close to town near what is now Central Station which continued in business under his sons Thomas's death in 1880.

Regards,

Dave
