So Sarah Ann is with son, John in Hull in 1851 and no Thomas, but Thomas is back with them in 1861 in Burton Pidsea?

Geoff
Oh! that Sarah Ann says she's unmarried

Geoff

Edit: Wrong Sarah Ann - Of course you have the correct ones from Post #1...

I can't understand how I've not found this 1841 record before
HO107-640-39-18
John 40, Ann 40, Thomas 20, William 15, John 7 and Mary 20 living Messingham

dave
I'm still looking for it..

Good to see Thomas is there...

Did you ever find a birth/bap. record for Thomas?

So John Sr is 40y in 1841, even if age was rounded down is a minor cause of concern, in 1861 (if I have the correct census) he says he is b. 1789.

Still, it looks very much like the family in 1841..

sorry Geoff, slip of the pen, 40 should read 50. Also you can see that the original ages have all been rounded down except Mary and John (jnr), so they are all older than indicated

thanks for the link. very interesting

So is the Robert who moved to and married in Hedon is the son of Edward and Elizabeth?

Who is the Edward Foster who was a witness at John's wedding?

Without further checking there is a likelihood that Edward b. abt. 1780 is a brother or cousin of John (Thomas' father).

hi Geoff

John's parents were Edward Foster and Judith Stephenson. They had a daughter Maria who may have been the other witness
I believe Edward and Elizabeth were the parents of Robert, but I can't see a link so far
