Looking for information on Thomas. His wife is Alice Armstrong. They went to Australia around 1856 but it is really his parents I am hoping to find. Naming patterns would suggest David Hope and Euphemia for parents but Ancrum/Jed area notorious for non conformist churches and I can't find a baptism. Do the death records in Australia have parents names?

Wasn't expecting you to be up, Dave. The death is from Atree so might be wrong? He was born 1811 and 1810 in 41 and 51 but A has him born 1806. Trying to get an accurate birth but hard to do so. His parents or who I think might be his parents married 1811 in Ancrum. Roxburghshire.

Yes, I have that Ellie, thanks. He was born Ancrum and Alice was from Southdean. Her parents were Thomas and Sarah so using the naming patterns. However there is no David and Euphemia for his parents. David and Elizabeth (Halliburton) had several children together but trying to work out if he was from a previous marriage or his birth was 1811 when David and Eliz married. There is a David born around 1806 who is also in the picture as same occupation (gamekeeper) First son David. The Hopes are being very difficult!.

thanks Ellie, so the A date of death is right. At least we know that. Too many Hopes in Jed and Ancrum.

You mean David! Yes but this tree also has a Helen. I have asked her where she gets this from but no answer. The possible brother to Thomas named David born around 1805 in Jed has a Helen as second girl. He is also a gamekeeper as is Thomas and so is father David who married Elizabeth Halliburton.
