Thomas Mentiplay, 1834 - 1926
Thomas Mentiplay was born on month day 1834, at birth place, to William M Mentiplay and Elizabeth (Betsy) Mentiplay (born Anderson).
William was born on April 23 1808, in Pittenweem, Fife, Carnbee, SCOTLAND.
Elizabeth was born in 1805, in Pittenweem, Fyfe, Scotland.
Thomas had 2 brothers: William Mentiplay and one other sibling.
Thomas married Margaret Doris Mentiplay (born Ca(i)rstairs) circa 1863, at age 28 at marriage place.
Margaret was born on September 3 1844, in Cellardyke, Fife, SCOTLAND.

There appears to be some activity between Vic. & NZ in the earlier years.. Irrespective of anything else, they are in Vic. or passing through..

Don't know why the trips to NZ. They were fishermen in Gippsland lakes in Vic.

Arrival seems to be 1853 - 1858. William imported fishing nets in 1858.

What can be found of the family in 1861 and 1871.

Did only two children, Margaret and John, end up in Vic. ??
