Possible remarriage 1862 ACKROYD Jonas (b. ) - NANCARROW Ann (b. ) Vic. #4349
In 1862 Jonas was living with a Mary Curtis, they were not married. Mary died when Jonas's house burnt down, he wasnt home at the time. The VIC archives have a inquest online for Mary Curtis and in that Jonas admits to having hit Mary more than once.

I then found this article, but cant prove its your Anne Dodd / Nancarrow / Ackroyd. I must have a suspicious mind cause when reading the below, i wondered if she really fell down steps or did he beat her up.

The Ballarat Courier (Vic. : 1869 - 1880; 1914 - 1918)
Sat 6 Sep 1873
About two o'clock yesterday morning, a middle-aged woman, named Anne Ackroyd, was brought to the District Hospital with her arm.broken, and otherwise seriously bruised. She received the injuries by falling down stairs in a house in main street, where she was engaged as nurse.

HI Geoff, his brother Vallentine was a convict as well in Tassie. There is advertisement in Trove of him looking for Jonas.

Thanks, Gibbo... Also, one tree says there may be an error with Jonas when he he was transported "Convict record can be seen on Tasmania archives (name given in error in record as Joseph and place of birth as Layton". Probably worth remembering.

The tree has Valentine as committing a few crimes in the early 1840's, finally transported 1844 to VDL.

I have no idea if the Ann Nancarrow who married Jonas in 1862 is Ann nee Dodd. Don't know what date in 1862.
