Thanks Geoff.

Coal and corn merchant

So many of the family names connected with Newbery appear with odd variations.

MOTZ = Moss = Mass

Not sure if we are doing 'P' for Pennell or 'M' for Motz or 'N' for Newbery.

Apart from this I have nothing on Richard senior:

Page 50
MARRIAGES Solemnized in the Parish of St Dunstan Stepney in the County of Middlesex in the Year 1813
No. 148
Richard Motz of this Parish and Hamlet of Ratcliff Bachelor
Susannah Pennell of this parish and same Hamlet Spinster
were married in this Church by Banns this Eightenth Day of May 1813
By me Charles Henrick ? Presil ? Mill ? Curate
Both signed (R. John Motz)
Witnesses: Thomas Burch, Charlotte Pennell

Thanks Geoff.

Yes. I had that one with the middle name Fruit.

Sometimes you can rule a Newbery marriage in or out by looking to see if there is a signature or an x. Lots of them with two or three marriages.

I will sleep on it. Catch you later.

That's an error with father as Michael Motz because Susanna was a widow and her father is Michael Pennell. Thomas died 1852 so I don't know if she remarried or not. I have no death.
