Thomas Rennison married Ann Rennison in Hebburn, Northumberland in 1748. I can find a Thomas Rennison born Hebburn 1710 to George and Anna. I can find an Ann Rennison born Hebburn 1720. The only snag is that she was also a child of George and Anna. Working on the principle that siblings didn't marry each other (I hope not, anyway) one of them is probably correct but which one?

Basically I am looking for any Thomas or Ann Rennison born in Northumberland between about 1710 and 1720.

Thanks

Emeltee

Can't see any others Emeltee.

Those two look to be siblings going by George's abode.

They are definitely siblings. The Parish Register for Bothal and Hebburn is on line so I have the whole family, but only the one Thomas Rennison, brother of Ann.

I have found a baptism 1714 in Warkworth for a male Rennison father Thomas who could possibly be my man but as there is no Christian name I can't be sure.

It's actually Thomas and Ann's son George who I am interested in. It doesn't help that there are two George Rennisons born 4 years apart in Hebburn to 2 different father's. Mine was born Fenrother in 1739 father Thomas and the other one in 1743 in Causy Park father John. I have managed to eliminate him as I found his marriage licence which gives an age which fits exactly with his birth year and his wife's name is not right to fit in with the info I have. Took ages to sort that one out. Now I just need to sort Thomas and Ann.

Could I have your thoughts, please, on the following

Thomas Rennison married Ann Rennison in 1738 in Hebburn. In 1744 they had a son whom they called Lancelot. I have found a baptism for an Ann Rennison in Longframlington, about 5 miles from Hebburn, whose father was called Lancelot.

Could this be the Ann who married Thomas or am I just straw clutching again?

Thanks Amanda. That Ann is the sister to the Thomas born 1710. This is the problem I have. The only two suitable people who fit the couple marrying in 1738 are brother and sister and I refuse to believe that anyone committing incest would be so blatant as to marry in the village where they were born!

Thanks Amanda. The Thomas born 1748 is the son of Thomas and Ann.

Will look into the Anna born Warkworth, though.

Not sure about Thomas marrying a sister in law as he only had two brothers who survived infancy and one of those wasn't born until 1726 so isn't likely to have married and died before 1738. I'll have a look for the marriage of the other remaining brother.
