Could you give us a transcript of what it says on the headstone please, including the first bit, about Sam and Jane I think. Can't quite make it out on the image. Thanks

I think it says "died in Lynn Hospital"

I did a google and when i type in Lynn Hospital this comes up " Queen Elizabeth Hospital King"s Lynn Norfolk.

Shame we didnt know what year he died, i could check the papers on the off chance it was in them.

Yeah, most likely..

Though there is a Freebridge Lynn, but can't see an obvious hospital, though there was a workhouse, depending on date of death [would be useful]..

There are 3 possibles in FreeREG2, 1788, 1789 and this..

Place: King's Lynn
Church name: St Margaret
Register entry number: 1432
Burial date: 29 Aug 1868
Person age: 56
Burial person forename: Thomas
Burial person surname: REYNOLDS

If this is correct, it is probably quite useful..

Thomas Reynolds
Marriage Date: 24 Dec 1835

Looking at the layout of the inscription, Sam and Jane are in two "columns", Sam, 1855, on the left and Jane , 1871, on the right. Jane's inscription is longer as it includes "wife of Sam Reynolds" but Sam's inscription is spaced out more so that they both reach down as far. Then Thomas Reynolds inscription is crammed under Jane's column leaving a space on Sam's side. Underneath that William Reynolds is inscribed over the full width.

Seems an unusual layout. I wonder if Thomas was a baby who died a long time before and was buried at the hospital but Jane or someone wanted him remembered ?

Please accept my apologies i have had internet troubles at home.

thank you for your help

do you still require me to decipher the grave stone?

I had a problem taking the photo due to it hidden under a willow tree and hardly any light plus. Found grave after 1hr 30mins of looking and 2 runs around the grave yard
