That is a great help. But did he give his right age to enlist? If age 75 in 1947 (cemetery record has 75) is correct then 12x Thomas born in Lancs 1871 - 1873 and none with middle initial M. Also a bit curious he was a conscript because volunteers in NSW have NX...

of Arts, Merrylands, was the scene
of conviviality, the occasion being
the celebration of the 21st birthday
of Thomas Stansfield. only son of Mr.
and Mrs. Stansfield, of Bindft-st,
Merrylands. The gathering was a
genuine surprise party. The day
haopened to possess a double sig
nificance to the members of the fam
ily it being also the birthday of the
young man's father. About 60
friends attended and the time was
spent in games and dancing. Several
valuable presents were handed to
the guest.
