Thomas remarries in 1862 and in 1871 they are living in Chelsea. He is described as a 'Wood cutting machinist' in 1871 and a 'millwright' in Sydney.

I'd like a look up please for Thomas in 1861.

Hi Dave

Took me an era to find the 1851 census, they were transcribed under Slow!

I suspect it is the Bromley death for Hester, that is the most likely as she is called Hester as opposed to Esther in 1841 and 51.

Can't see him in 1861 yet

I don't have Hester in 1841 so pease post that one.

The family did end up in Sligo so it's possible Thomas was in Ireland in 1861 if not in Suffolk. He was in Suffolk in 1862:
