It does look like Sewell on the image, the [L] from the name below probably clouds the middle of the name.

Can't find details of marriage but have found :-

28 Nov 1836
Aldeburgh
Samuel Smith of Leiston parish m. Emma Sewell

1851 census
Parish Leiston, RD Blything
Pc1803, F103, Pg40
Samuel Smith, 37, coal & corn chandler, b Leiston
Emma, 38. - , b Aldboro
Alfred, 13, b Leiston
Emma, 11, b Leiston
Ann, 9,b Leiston
Lydia,3, b Leiston
Pricila, 3, b Leiston

1861 census
Parish Leiston, RD Blything
Pc1178, F89, Pg8
address: Crosses Lane, (immediately after Snapes Rd)
Alfred Smith, 23, butcher, b Leiston
Emma Smith, sister, housekeeper, b Leiston
plus a servant and a visitor

1861, (very close to above household)
Parish Leiston, RD Blything
Pc1178, F97, Pg 24
Address: Snapes rd
Thomas Peck, 29, carpenter, b Suffolk
Emma Peck, 34, - , b Suffolk
3 children
Thomas Stowe, 31, visitor, engine driver , Glostershire Badmington

So we have in 1861 Thomas Stowe living in the RD of Blything close to Emma Smith whose mother's maiden name is Sewell. Surely they must be the couple who married in Blything in 1862?

Any sign of the Thomas Stowe born Badminton in earlier or later census.

??
Deaths Dec 1857
Stow Esther Cosford 4a 295
Deaths Dec 1860
Stow Hester Bromley 2a 145

I'd say he is ruled out by pob and occupation but since my Thomas has not been found in 1861 (he would be a widower - remarried 1862) it would be wise to check.

This is not the one who was the engine driver.
