Can someone look up the family set up please for the 1841 census?
There is a little confusion over Jane Quilliam and Christian Quilliam.
The childrens names from Christian are:
Jane Wade 1835 - 1890 b. Lezayre Isle of Man
Esther Wade 1842 - 1845 b. Lezayre IOM
and then there's a queery here
Thomas Wade 1840 - 1917 b. Maughold IOM
Who's family does Thomas 1840 come from? I think there's two families here, but someone has suggested its only one?
-----------------
Christening - Thomas Son of Thomas Wade and **Jane Quilliam**, Feb 2nd. Parish of Maughold 1840.

1857 - List of young persons confirmed by Rt. Revd. Horace Lord Bishop in Parish Church of Lezayre Advent Sunday Nov. 29, 1857. Name Wade Thomas, Age 17, Residence Kerromoar FN 106 727

1861 British Census. Aged 21, born IOM, Lodger, Saddler, Unmarried, Living Stafford St Mary, Staffordshire, England

Immigration Details
A Thomas Wade aged 23 in Nov 1863 sailed from Liverpool on the Great Victoria and he was a labourer. Need to check out other Thomas Wades to see if this is the correct one
Could not find Thomas Wade on the Oithona Aged 23 when I looked.
Thomas Wade aged 25 arrived on the Sussex with Edmund Wade who was 27. Both were laboureres and English.
This doesn't sound right. In the 1861 English Census is listed as a saddler.
Wade Family Tree by Lois Wade says Thomas arrived in Australia in 1864.

Anyway, back to your specific questions. Thomas Wade and Sophia Barton would have been Ted's parents although I have never heard of Sophia Anne Barton before but that does account for the 'Barton' in Ted's father's name. I knew that the family had come from the Isle of Mann This marriage certificate takes us back five generations with Jock being the fifth. Include Brian and Nigel and you have seven - well done!
