Dave, was at a loose end today;) so had a look at this for you. Not getting anywhere and in fact giving you less than you had. The Wm who marries Mgt Walker in Haddington is not your Wm. His parents were George and Christian and he was born 1831, a mason. The Thomas father of the brood was a gentleman's servant when he married Jane Cowan and she was from Northumberland, daughter of John Cowan. But finding no trace of any of them pre Wm's marriage to Grace West in 1880. I suspect the lot of them possibly moving around with landed gentry but hate being beat? there is a possible marriage for a Wm to a Mgt Walker in Darlington in 1845 but that is not helping either.
