Update - The Whittle family I am researching emigrated from Portland, Dorset to Wagga Wagga NSW Australia.

William Whittle was born 1818 Portland Dorset to parents William Whittle and Sarah Miller. He and his wife Mary Marwood (nee Cady) emigrated to NSW. The family settled in the Wagga area with one son moving to Queensland. They were a family of blacksmiths.
