Thanks. I didn't see deaths that seemed to fit.

I suppose you need a year for a probate record.

A family of wealth and influence.

SHOTWICK, on the banks of the Dee, 6 miles N.W. from Chester, contains 19 houses, and 94 inhabitants. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is a curacy, value 23/. 15*., in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Chester. Shotwick Hall is the seat of John Nevett Bennet, Esq.
In this parish are the following townships: —
Cappenhurst, or Capenhurst, 5 1/2 miles N. from Chester, contains 27 houses, and 161 inhabitants. Capenhurst Hall is the seat of Richard Richardson, ... was purchased of Lord Cholmondley in 1790 by Richard RICHARDSON, Esq.

No. 167
Richard Richardson and Dorothy Bower both of this parish were married in this church by Banns this Fourth day of September in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and by me A P Po*ton curate
This marriage was solemnized between us [signed Richd Richardsone; Dorothy Bower].
In the presence of John **** Bower; Sarah Bower and Mary Bower

Bloomsbury St George
1810 Sep 4
Richard RICHARDSON, otp
Dorothy BOWER, otp
Married after Banns
Both signed in presence of John Plant Bower, Sarah Bower, Mary Bower

Looks to be the right one as there is a Dorothy BOWER born 1782, and a John Plant BOWER born 1778 both in Chesterfield, father Joseph.

Dorothy BOWER c. 25 Oct 1782 Chesterfield, Derby

Richardson, Charles (1814 - 1896), civil engineer, was born at Capenhurst Hall near Chester on 14 August 1814, the third son of Richard Richardson JP, a deputy lieutenant for Cheshire, who died when Charles was six years old, and his wife, Dorothea. He was educated privately in England and France, and then at Edinburgh University which he left in 1833. From his earliest years he showed exceptional ability in mechanics and a natural talent for engineering, which his mother in particular did much to foster. At the age of nineteen Richardson was apprenticed to Isambard K. Brunel who employed him on the Box and Sapperton tunnels and on other sections of the Great Western Railway. ...

That means 1820 so there should be a death and burial to fit. Two years out?

The will was written on 9 September 1820 and proved on 1 June 1822.

I was hoping we could sort out the 1820 and 1822 bit re Richard.

I knew we didn't have Thomas William in 1881 but I didn't realise we didn't have him in 1871 either.
