Thomasin married Samuel Matum in 1653 Highworth Wiltshire, so est her birth abt 1630. There were Hippisley's living in Stanton Fitzwarren Wiltshire and Lambourn Berkshire from the same family, so I was wondering if she was a member of this family originally from Ston Eaton Somerset??

Many thanks

Amanda

No I'm not either. There were some Hippisley's baptised at Hannington which isn't too far from Highworth, I was wondering if she was related?? There was also a family in Lambourn Berkshire also not so far as Hungerford was part of Wiltshire around that time.

I've just taken a look I think it says Lower Inglesham. She was probably living there at the time, but I don't see any Hippisleys living in Lower or Upper Inglesham.

Hi Amanda

A family member of mine has the Highworth and Stanton Fitzwarren bap's [PR/BT] and she doesn't appear to be in either.

Have you looked at Somerset, the Hippisley name seems far more common there. Saying that, after a brief search I can't find a Thomasin .
Yeah, a surprisingly common name in some parts.. I couldn't see anything suitable in Somerset, not sure if Amanda has any further ideas there.

I'm waiting for my relative to get back to me [she doesn't do quick], she has a few more PR's in the Swindon area..

I’ve looked everywhere including Lambourn where someone else inherited a house but nothing. I’m wondering if it is just missing?? May be damaged?? I also wondered if she was a widow but haven’t found a marriage suitable.
I found a history about the family online, but not all marriages or descendants appeared on it. Thanks for looking everyone

I have, but the marriages are a bit early. It’s possible she may be Edward’s daughter but I haven’t found a baptism.

Thanks
Amanda

Hi Amanda

Got those other PR's now, the 1653 marriage is confirmed, but no obvious birth/bap unfortunately [Stanton Fitzwarren is among them]

Thanks for that Geoff, just thought as it was just up the road it would have made sense. May be she came from one of the other families further afield although I haven't found anything there either, just wondering if she's one of these where the baptism is missing?? Or may be not transcribed yet??

Thanks again
Amanda
