To Bill

Thomas and Gertrude Miles were the parents of my late Grandad ( Reginald Bertie Miles). He died when I was a kid, I rearly have very little info on any other members of the family, I do recall my Grandad talking about his brothers Donald and Harold.

Thomas Miles and Gertrude Miles were my Grandads (Reginald Bertie Miles) parents, Crankypants post shows Thomas as a young lad with his brothers and sisters, but his father was also called Benjamin.

I am also quiet new to this and all I have is the link to my Grandad, kindly found by crankypants.

sorry if this is not much help too you, and sorry for taking so long to answer

Ann

Hi Ann, sorry I didn't reply to your earlier post. I've printed off an early chunk of the tree & will try & insert it here - doesn't seem to be an attachment facility. The numbers at the start are the generation no.s 1 for first etc. Sorry if I'm labouring it a bit, it's much easier to see in the indented report that this came from!
Hope that it makes sense to you. Regards, Bill

Hi Bill

Thank you for the tree, yes it is the same family, but you have managed to go back to the 1700s, which I had not got.

If I can be of any more help, please send a message, I check this forum most days.

Regards
Ann

Ann,
I have a couple of wills - and my transcriptions! For joint ancestors - would you like copies? I'm not sure if there is a way to exchange email details etc without having the world and his wife looking on. Having had my email details "harvested" in the past & suffered the torrent of spam, I'm not keen on going down that route again!

(Anybody looking in that can help on this please do so)

Re your offer, a few dates that I'm missing in your branch of the mileses would be interesting. If you ever get over to Kent, there are a lot of Miles graves in St Paulinas in Crayford, but be warned that there are at least two miles clans there & they're not recently connected. In the reference library in Bexley Heath they have a copy of the parish records for Crayford & I got some of the data here from that, but must go back & give it a more thorough reading some day.

Regards, Bill

Hi Bill

Yes you can exchange information without putting it on the forum for all too see.

It's easy select my user name (gooch1920) from one of my post's when you click on it you will get a dropdown menu, select the option "Send gooch1920 a private message". a message box comes up, type in the box your message and send.

I am going to send you one just so you can see, you will find your private messages on the top right hand corner of the forum page.

Hope you understand this.

Regards
Ann
