Today is a sad anniversary day.

My nan Connie died 40 years ago today suddenly aged 50. 8 October 1970. Mum was only 21 and it still effects her to this day.

Someones death close to you is hard to come to grips with at times.

I lost an 18 year old daughter in a car accident which her boyfriend was driving, i still find it hard to handle.

Hi Ben & Oz, losing someone close to us is an awful experience isn't it. I know how it feels as I lost my dad 7 years ago.

It's a fact we never get over the loss of a loved one. It becomes an ache we all learn to live with. My own parents died within a year of each other 25yrs ago. My sister-in-law died early this yr on the 1yr anniversary of my Mother-in-law & a cousin only this week. I find myself thinking of them all at different times for no apparent reason. I now just let the thoughts come & enjoy the memories.

Condolences Ben, it's so sad when someone is taken away too soon. I know how much you would have loved to grow up knowing her.

She would have been 90 this year.

I also have a great gran who died on her 50th birthday in 1945.

My wife Donnami lost her mother two years back...it would have been her 83rd birthday today,Donnami misses her mum terribly.
So though it was a lovely warm Autumn day today here in Wiltshire it was tinged with a little sadness.
