Hello
I'm researching the names Bowditch and Coppen.
I've followed our branch of Bowditches to the Weymouth area in the 1870s, but run into a problem: Alfred B.'s birth cert. (1877) doesn't name his father, although his mother was married to an Elias B. who is in the 1871 Census but cannot be found anywhere in 1881 (or subsequently).
Any suggestions gratefully received!
