Trade Directory Look up

Wasn't sure where to put this but would anyone be able to search the trade directories for London? I have never used them and don't know where to find them, so if anyone could help that would be great.

I'm not even sure the record I'm looking for exists as the year concerned is 1737. I'm looking for a Thomas Monk who lived at Cow Cross in the parish of St Sepulchre, Clerkenwell I believe. This gentleman exists, but I am trying to find out if he had anything to do with Rope Making as his son's baptism doesn't list an occupation.

Hi Ryan
I am not sure if this will be of any help but i have been using Historical directories for trade information in Lincolnshire and i believe they have a London directory but i am not sure what year they go back to.
If you google them as historical directories a London link should come up.
It took me a while to learn how to use them so be patient.
