Do you ever visit childhood places you used to go to such as your old school, college or even childhood play dens?
Hi Ben
I live to far from where i grew up to visit but i often tell the grandkids stories about it all and we go through the photo albums to look at photos of my childhood. Its fun!

I occasionally visit my old college which I attended from 1998 to 200. Those were some of the best days of my life. The building has changed very little but hardly any of the tutors or principals that were there when I was there are still at the college now. All of the students are a good 10 years or so younger than me now.

I love going back to the area of my birth in worcestershire
a lot of the villages are much the same as they were in
the 1940s not spoilt by the ravages of time or " progress "
life is lived at a slower speed there people have time to
talk to each other

I visit my house in Barnoldswick and school in Skipton every time I come home and take photos. I'm lucky, each owner of my house has it looking more beautiful than the last and I get the photo printed and framed for Mum and Dad each year.

I always take pictures of the Mill my Dad owned as well, which was called Yorkshire Plush and was also in Barnoldswick on the Leed to Liverpool Canal. It has been converted and called various different company names over the years. Last year when I went to visit, I couldn't believe it. There were just several piles of rubble where the originl Mill stood, so I took a picture of that and framed it for Dad as well. Luckily he saw the humour. Just another reminder that nothing is for ever and life comes full circle.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with the land when I'm home in December/January.

Cheers,
Jill

Good on you Jill....nice memories,.....bring yer woolies, its cold there in summer so its going to Arctic like then!
Yes if there's one thing that I've still got deep memories of, it's the bite of a northern winter!

I keep telling myself that I must be mad, but it's that time or not at all this year. We also have a big gathering of my Coultas clan in Northallerton. It is set to include all the "internet cousins" who have met through Ancestry Genes Reunited etc! :D

Winter wool is all packed, I bought up big on the sales this year. My Granddaughter is coming with me, it will be her first time in England. She's just not getting the idea of 'bitter cold'. I'm hoping she'll survive OK! >:D
