My Mum queued for 2 nights, when she was in her 60's to see it. Made her day when the Queen waved at her. Well......in her direction anyway.

Part of her 'to do' list.

Hi all,

Being an Ex Grenadier Guard, I have done the trooping of the colour a few times and believe me it is very hard and very tiring!

We have to practice in the barracks and do a few full test runs at horse guards and work non stop from 2am right through to 11pm at night, especially when your barracks are not in London.

The Grenadiers who trooped their colour this weekend only had 9 weeks to practice, as they had just come back from Helmand provice in Afganistan. So I really pity them! After all it was a good parade and hopefully now they has some well earned rest. :)

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave, I salute you mate.:)

You could see the pride in those guards. They stood 2 inches taller, and the chest out that little bit further.

I do believe there was a section, that went straight from Trooping the Colour, to guard duty at Buckingham Palace.
Now that is/was a long day.

My hats off to all 'our' boys.O0
