Hello Julie,

Thank you very much.

Yes, several children ended up with middle name Cumberland.

So not one large family all at home in 1841. I guess the children a a bit old given the date of the marriage.

Regards,

Dave

Thanks Julie.

Robert can't be in both places so the William and Robert at Wheatenhurst would have to be from another family. I have William as b. 1834 but that is only a privately submitted IGI record.

Shipping references to the family in 1849 just say Mr & Mrs and family. One source names only four children as William, Elizabeth, Robert and Ann, but it is known that others ended up in Australia. I have no idea at the moment if some arrived after 1851 or if they all arrived in 1849.

Frances married in NSW in Jul 1852 and Frederick married in NSW in Nov 1855.

Hi Dave,

No luck with the 1851 census. I had a look at the birth registration index.

Robert Cumberland Twine born 1840 district Westbury on Severn
Anne Cumberland Twine born 1846 district Westbury on Severn

Thanks Julie.

Births Sep 1846
Twine Anne Cumberland Westbury on S 11 493

I don't know how the author of one tree was able to name four children who arrived with their parents in 1849. I can find no passenger list or newspaper article that names any of the children or even notes how many.
