Right I found my great, great uncle Nathan James Stock born 1877 went to Canada in April 1910. He was back in Essex, England by the April 1911 census and the passenger list of his arrival in Halifax Nova Scotia said he did not intend to settle permanently in Canada but he did intend on being a bricklayer once he arrived in Canada. Maybe he had a job offer and went out there to earn some extra money.
I cannot seem to find him in the UK incoming passenger lists returns on Antree. I wonder if a fresh pair of eyes may help at all?
