I spent several hours scanning old photos from Cairns in North Qld. I have no idea which related family/families I have in these photos.

This one is a puzzle. It looks to be my mother at left. She was the only daughter. I have no idea who the woman is second from left or who the girl in the middle would be. The two on the right also don't look to be my mother's parents.

Nothing on the back, gibbo.

The mother and three daughters ??? McLuckie or Blackley or Hamilton ??

Not Hamilton - 5 sons and no daughters. Not Ledlie or Marnane with no daughters.

Blackley three daughters born 1891, 1892 and 1893. If that's right then the eldest of the three is my grandmother and that does not seem to fit the pic taken much later in life.

Kalbar 1927 - Colin, Betty & Ian

I can't place them yet. Ian Kilner born 1916 and Colin Kilner born 1921 but no Betty ?? Five years difference in age ?

No Colin or Ian if Hamilton or Blackley or McLuckie.

The 3 sisters seem to have a significance. The younger man does have a resemblance to your grandfather?. Perhaps other family members have other pictures that have been uploaded to another certain site.

Thanks Julie.

I'll have to do some hunting and I'll have to try and make contact with long lost relatives in Qld.

If the three sisters are Blackley then one is my grandmother. I don't think that fits. The mother of the Blackley sisters was from Germany.

Re the five in front of the car - if the two on the right are parents of my mother on the left (I'm sure about her) then I have no ide re the other two.

Can't fit. My mother's parents were both 29 when she was born. My mother married at age 23 and that photo was taken before she married.

Brilliant photos Dave. (y)

I have so many I haven't scanned, and not knowing who they are.

My paternal Granny changed very much facialy over the years, from the ages of 14, 20, 26, 52, and finally 1958. She died 1961.

I don't have enough photos spread over the years to be able to know I have the right person. My mum the exception to that.
Lots of the photos are the small - don't know what camera - 2.5" x 1.5" size.

The only other connected family with three daughters is Cooksley. However dob and age difference probably rules them out.

Alice 1878, Janet 1881 and Lily 1884. Mother Catherine born abut 1849 - ok ruled out.

Ok, The beach one with the dog.

Sheila, Max, Hilary & me.

Me = my mother for sure on the left. Hilary was best friend and bridesmaid when my mother married. So the one on the right. I don't have her maiden name.

Witnesses when my mother married: Hilary Alison Al... ? , Leonard Norman West
