Hi all
Marriage cert of Valdemar to Dorothy May Cassells in 1923 his age is given as 22, - father William Edward Strother mother Nellie Hill.
Death cert according to family has the name Albert Edward Strother.
:confused::confused::confused:

Hi Karen,

Are you able to see the original birth record, or a baptism, there may have been a mistake when entering the fathers names. Just a thought.

Hi guys,
Gibbo, Julie and Duckweed - I don't think he knew the truth nor did the family. I don't believe William Smith married Nellie and maybe deserted her - she did after all have a brood of children (her husband William Edward had died February 1899).

There is no surname just VALDMER LANCE then "not present written under it. Notice the "A" is missing too. What a mess! I will PM you.

For those who have replied to this post, Smith is noted on the cert. as father and also he was the informant of the birth of Val.

ahh the things that stick in your head as a kid...maybe there was some truth to it..hehe
