That's curious too.

I can't find a birth reg for the one listed arriving in 1900.

No sign of any birth or baptism in England for Benjamin.

You had the below in post 1 on here

Valmai Noreen Johnston 1943 Queensland Griffith
Valmai Noreen Jeffrey 1949 Queensland Petrie
Valmai Noreen Hughes 1954 Queensland Ryan

I can eliminate the last 2. They are the same person. Hughes with maiden name Jeffrey.

Saturday 6 January 1951
MARRIAGE NOTICE
HUGHES-JEFFERY: On 23rd De-
cember, at St Andrew's Church of England, Lutwyche, the marriage took place between Valmai Noreen, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs L. G. Jeffery,

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I also found this but dont know if its your Robert or not
E/R’s
1972/1977/1980
Robert Marnane

Thanks gibbo. :)

There are not many MARNANEs from Ireland in Australia. There is another family in NSW that appears mostly as MURNANE.

If it is Robert then he moved a long way south.

Fisher: It is located in the Sunshine Coast area north of Brisbane and includes the towns of Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Beerwah, Maleny, Woodford and Kilcoy.

Well now: :D

26 Mar 1900/C05515 Marnane Robert - William - Elizabeth McLuckie

Oops. This is the one I should be chasing.

Valmai Noreen Johnston 1943 Queensland Griffith

The only other ref to "valmai noreen" is the engagement notice in 1949 for Jeffery.

Thanks gibbo.

I can't find marriage to Johnston. The name is too common to start picking possibles from the Electoral rolls.

The sub-division is not in the index but I found these in an old topic:

Valmai Noreen Johnston Female 1943 Queensland Griffith Kurilpa
Valmai Noreen Johnston Female 1949 Queensland Griffith Kurilpa
Valmai Noreen Johnston Female 1954 Queensland Ryan Toowong

We are stuck for now.
