Need help tracing Vera Ethel Waddington..she was born between 1911 and 1917 Australia ,i think Queensland..Know she married a Carr Charles Francis Fox..he died in 1942 from accident.youngest of four boys born 1942 after his death..before that there were three other children from about 1935 c have their details..but after first husbands death she had a child to a (Fred)Shep(p)herd around 1950's mark presume in Qld as family were located around the north ..eg towns were Chaters Towers.Mt Isa,Inghan.victoria estate.winton ,hughenden ..all these towns are in Queensland Australia
Have lost all trace of Vera ,hitting brick walls all ways need help..If i wanted to search at the registary office does it cost . ,does anyone know if one can go and ask for .them to search ..i am at a loss as to what would be best way to start the search..i have done the on line bmd free search for queensland it goes to 1914 and she is not listed,but on a birth cert of child it states her birth as 1911,i have done nsw free bmd also ,we have a 1936 census data and her husband was listed at 3 mile victora estate labourer .
but she is not listed with him..
looking for birth,marriage,death if i can. hope some one can help cheers Lynne

I can't remember whether we have corresponded before - I haven't done any genealogy seriously since 2006 due to work etc.

I too am looking for Vera, she is my husbands grandmother. His father, Herbert Fox is a son of Vera's.

I have been told that Vera married Roy Shepherd in 1943 in Qld and they had a son also called Roy. I can't find any death in Qld for a Roy Shepherd/Sheppard etc even tho Ross's uncle is adamant he died somewhere near Hughenden. I have just searched for him under Frederick, found one but have no idea if it is him, he died in 1952. I have been told when he died she went to live with one of her sons, Jimmy Fox in Perth. Jimmy was in the army over there. He was discharged in the late 50's and returned to Qld. My husbands uncle, Graham Fox, told me that Vera was back in Mackay in late 1959 / early 1960 and that he went to see her, she was living above a fish and chip shop in town and she told him he had to leave. He seemed to think there was a man in the flat and they had been drinking.

I have paid to have a search done at Qld BDM for the death of Vera Ethel Shepherd born 3rd May 1917 from 1st January 1960 to 10th December 2006 ( 10th Dec being the current date I did the search ) which turned up nothing. I also gave them her maiden name and first married name in case that appeared somewhere.

At the time I thought she probably didn't marry after Roy Shepherd died in 1943 but she would only have been 26 so she may have. My next search is going to be a marriage for her from 1943 to current. I am trying to find out when her second husband died so I can narrow down the years for the search. When I did the death search it cost around $15 for each 5 years, probably more now !

I found the death index for Carr, the index says he died in 1941 tho and not in 1942 as you stated

father Leonard Ernest
mother Mary Ann Eva Grigg

If you were to purchase his death cert. it should hopefully have his marriage details on it hence this should give you a place of marriage etc once you know where they married you can then purchase his and Vera's marriage cert. and that should then give you her place of birth etc. The marriage cert. should also give Vera's parents names which in turn will help when looking for a death for her.
Sorry if you have already tried this but if not it might be worth a go as the Australian cert. if filled out correctly can have a wealth of info on them.

Vera was my late husbands mother,,yes i am sorry...it is 1941 on death cert
,i must have typed 2 instead,we have marriage and our marriage certs we also have parents names,the trouble is Vera seems to have vanished after 1961,when my son,her oldest grandson was born, that was our last contact with her..or sighting
and now we would if possible like to know her where abouts/or death///this lady has always been one of mystry,she changed her name many times,and we in progress at monent ,a search and of ,search records,i am a member of my local family history association and thru there we are hoping we can turn up something,i have tried putting her parents into looking for death,i have found one,of late, but there are no parents names attached to this lady so cant be definate that it is her,but we are in process of turning over data. so,it is looking good...at the present..Hoping Tina Fox goes to phone book we are in same area by the looks,so we can write..fingers crossed..
