Many thanks for the reply. Seems my William George Vickerstaff was really George and had a brother called William. George came to nz 1879 with wife Hannah and six children He lists his age as 49, puts his birth as about 1830.
Hannah was Hannah Dorothy Smith.
William was m. to Harriet Pugh. His parents are George and Mary [no maiden name] He died 1897 aged 72 so b. 1822.
Brithers were born Wolverhampton I am still waiting for death cert for George.

I have now got death cert for George. b. abt 1828 Burslam Staffordshire. m. Hannah smith Wolverhampton abt 1850 Parents George Vickerstaff and Mary Burns. Seeking any information to confirm /add to these facts. Would also like to know is there a Burslem in Shropshire. Seem to see two different spellings, sometimes Staffordshire and sometimes Shropshire

Hi Sandie,

George is a bit elusive at the moment I'm not able to find his marriage as of yet. There is a Burslem in Staffordshire. Staffordshire and Shropshire are next to each other perhaps the boundaries changed at one time?.
