i looked at Roland and Violet on the 1939 register,,,Violet has this surname also - Brooker....so it looks like she remarried,,,and Yorkshire bmd has.

I found the marriages on FreeBMD, I was a bit mystified myself and tended to agree with you, that the 1921 marriage was the more likely of the two. Being a register office marriage isn't going to give any extra info away
