Can Robert & Sarah PINCKNEY be found in 1841?

Can death/burial be found for either?

Can a marriage be found for Gervase/Jervase?

Looking in FS I didn't see any likely in census.

About 5 variations of Gervase including Jervis.

Thanks Barbara.

According to a tree that half makes sense  Gervase 1754-1799

No son Gervase listed but the tree might be missing one.

According to tree - married Martha SPENCER 1772 Wakefield, All Saints

No death listed for son Joshua but I have that one:

Deaths Mar 1870
Walker Joshua 83 Wakefield 9c 37

The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848-1954) - Tuesday 17 May 1870 p.4
DEATHS
Walker.-On the 16th March, in the 84th year of his age, at his residence, Wakefield, Yorkshire, England, Joshua Walker, Esq., the beloved father of Mr. Joshua Walker, of Sandhurst, Victoria.

The big question. Have I missed a generation?

Amelia born 1799. Marriage 1823 and Joshua a bachelor but the tree has Joshua b. 1804 son of Joshua b. 1786 son of Gervase b. 1754.

If I am right there is no Joshus b. 1804 and the witnesses are siblings. I have age at death.

If the tree is right there is a Joshua b. 1804 and the witnesses are uncle and aunt.

I thought at first Martha had died in the 1790's but it looks as if Gervas/e Sr may have..

BI:
22 Mar 1799 Gervase Walker, Horbury, St Peter & St Leonard, bur.
Also:
21 Aug 1842 Gervase Walker, 63, St Peter & St Leonard, bur. [Must be Gervas Jr]

Thanks Geoff.

The witnesses mean nothing to me.

Apart from a tree, I have nothing to say Martha SPENCER is the right one. It does seem as though the tree is correct re 1799 death but it's not 100% correct because it does not have all the children. Same old story, what bits to believe.

Catch you later. :) I'm off again.

Had a quick look at some of the entries in the original Horbury PR transcriptions (hundreds of Walkers) fortunately only 36 for Gervase (without Jervase).

6 Mar 1790 Susanna Wife of Gervase Walker, bur.
5 Mar 1797 Martha d. of Gervase Walker, farmer & Martha his first wife, bur.
22 Mar 1799 Gervase Walker, Farmer, bur.

You have some of the bap. in post #10
29 Mar 1776 Sarah d. of Jervase Walker, bap.
1 Apr 1776 Sarah d. of Jervase Walker, bur.
17 July 1777 Thomas s. of Jervase Walker, bap.
15 July 1779 Jarvis s. of Jervase Walker, bap.
1 Sep 1781 Matty d. of Jervase Walker, bap.
26 Sep 1787 Martha wife of Jervase Walker, bur.

So Martha d. 1787 and his second wife had d. by 1790, not found the marriage to Susanna yet.

Thanks Geoff.

I presume Matty bap 1781 is daughter Martha buried 1797.

The tree has a death for wife Martha in 1797. It looks as though the tree auther has not seen the 'd. of Gervase Walker, farmer & Martha his first wife' bit.

I think they have only looked at the basic transcriptions that are available and not the original transcriptions.

:2fun: No one.

But, the connection to my grandmother's sister is the great grandson of Joshua bap. 1786.

Marriages Sep 1855
WALKER Joshua Halifax 9a 527
Hirst Ruth Anna Halifax 9a 527

Leeds Mercury - Saturday, 15th September 1855
Marriages
On Wednesday last at Harrison Road Chapel, Halifax, by Rev J. Hoyle of Lightcliffe - Mr. Joshua Walker of Melbourne, Australia, son of Mr. Joshua Walker, spirit merchant of Wakefield, to Ruth Anna, 3rd daughter of Mr. James Hirst, merchant of Whinney Field, Skircoat.

Now, there is a mystery. :)
