I have found them on the censuses but can I heck as like find a marriage date/place for them! :(
If no one has any info, tips on where to look next for a marriage would be gratefully acceped.
Many thanks to any helpfull beings out there.

Hi,

Sorry cant find them either, looked on the free bmd and Ancestrys partial bmd index. Havnt tried their complete index the images are taking to long to load at the moment. Could be that they didnt not marry not uncommon, or Rose may have been married b/4 if she was it would have been a short marriage. I see there 2 Rose Anrcliffe's born Sheffield one 1873 and 1875.
Could be that they have been missed off the gro index. You could try the local registrars office for Sheffield I think they may look 3 years either side of the date given, but you would still have to send them the money for a cost of a certificate and not to sure that if they cant find them if they will return the monies or a partial refund, best thing is to ring them and find out if you take that route.

Thanks for your reply juliej.

I have already tried all those things and got no where.:'( The local reg office returned my money after an unsuccessful search of a few years either side of my dates, which was something I suppose, but an old aunt insisted that her grandparents DID marry. I guess they would have said that anyway - but if so I am completely stumped as to when and where.
Although they were a poor family, they were a proud one, and it appears that they usually did things 'properly', so I have to assume that there is a marriage somewhere abouts. Would all the parish registers be on the BMD? Or is it worth looking at any do you think. There is a good chance that they were catholic due to Irish descendancy so I may have to learn a bit of latin!!
