Hi Iam trying to trace my gt gt gt grandfather robert walsh i know he was a chelsea pensioner in 1864 from his sons marriage cert. could anybody give me some pionters how to proceed

Hi Mike,

If you post the names and as much info as possible, also the birth certificate for his son will give the mothers maiden name if the son was born after civil registration (1837). You can also trace them on the census.
