Hi Dave!

Blown away by this post as I believe that the Walter Jnr born 1916 that you refer in a post further down and who is the son of Walter and Margaret (nee Neale) Perks, is in fact my grand-father. The deaths of Walter Harry, Margaret and Walter Jnr (who was known has Harry here in Oz) did occur in NSW.

My grandfather and his family lived in the Kingsford and Lugarno areas. My grandfather married Catherine Lydia Barnes in 1943 in their local area which was, at that time, Kingsford which the marriage records confirm.

My grandparents are both at the Woronora cemetary in Sutherland. I believe that Margaret is also there and I am currently trying to confirm if the William Thomas Perks at Woronora is my great uncle/my grandfathers brother. As it is, I will be going to Sydney in January 2014 specifically to visit the cite again, this time to pay respects not only to my grandparents but to the other Perks' located there as I believe that they are in fact my relatives.

I have only just begun my Perks family search and it has taken me weeks (user error mainly) to get to this point. I would love to know if you have any further information that we might be able to share. My greatest focus at the moment is Walter (Snr). The only record I have is that he died in Liverpool State Hospital in NSW which was actually a mental asylum for the most part. I haven't found his final resting place however. And Lily, Lily Perks has gone missing. My father recalls visiting as a very young child a woman with my grandfather, Walter (Jnr) and he believes that that woman was my Pop's sister (Walter Snr and Margaret's daughter, Lily). He recalls being told she was unwell and feels that she did marry, (I have a couple of 1940 and 1943 leads that are also located near Kingsford), but that she never had children and that she died young.
