Was Herbert a Boer War Vet??

Info I have says my Grandfather was a Boer War Vet. Born 1873 in OZ, married on 16th April 1900 in OZ. Herbert James Taylor was his name. Given hint of HJ Taylor in Doyles Australian Scouts but can't seem to find info. Found a Herbert James Cox Taylor but he not mine. Any ideas out there?

Hi,
I have checked and found that there are a couple of mentions of James Taylor at the battle of Talana (Glencoe), Lombards Kop and Colenso. I have a web site you can check out. www.dundeekzn.co.za. Go to the link for the Anglo Boer war. There is a lot of info under Anglo Boer wars, all the battles, deaths etc etc.
