Hi,

On the familysearch site there is an extracted record for a Wilmot Waters (down as female) christening 10 May 1818, Charing, Kent.

Father Peter Waters
Mother Sybella

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

Once you have Wilmots details you will see a batch number at the bottom click on the batch number another box will come up type in the surname and other Waters will appear once you click on their names you will see if they are children of Peter and Sybella.

Hi,

Just checking is Wilmott male or female as there are a couple of females called Wilmott, also what other info have you about Wilmott and Elizabeth are they siblings?.

In 1851 Peter and Sibella (Sibly) have a g/dau called Emma Foord age 6 with them. Found a marriage in 1838 for a James Foord district Hollingbourne, Kent one of the other names listed is a Wilmoth Waters. I cant find a James and Wilmott (Wilmoth together on the census) there is a Wilmott Foord (pauper) who in 1841 is with a West Ashford Kent, they are together in 1861 living in the civil parish of Charing, Wilmott born abt 1819, Charing (been transcribed as Willm H by Ancestry.

Am I on the wrong track?

Wilmot is a male son of Peter and Sybilla (taken directly from the parish records) was baptized 10 May 1818. Eliza (Elizabeth) was his sister born in 1823. Peter and Sybilla were my 4GGparents. Since their baptisms I have been unable to come up with anything. I am hoping to find some marital information on both, or if either one died before that. They may have even left the country. Thanks to all of you for your replies. Any further info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

That is the only Wilmot that I can find with a connection to Peter and Sybella. I would think that there is an error as to whether Wilmot is male or female.

I've got an Elizabeth Waters (or possibly Walters, the register wasn't very clear) on my tree in Kent, a few generations before yours, but could be a relation?
Elizabeth Waters, married to James Fowler, 31st May 1748 at East Malling.
The Fowler side are my ancestors, so I have been researching them before getting round to doing the Waters, and this is the only reference to her I have. If there is a link then I could share a lot of information on her husbands family.

Sorry, Jon;

My kindred are from Lenham - Egerton area. At this point I have not traced anyone to the East Malling area. Thanks for your reply. Good Luck!
