Can anyone advise me on how I can obtain baptism information please? I have my dad’s birthdate as 19/12/1907, born Liverpool (this information is from his death certificate) but when I check birth records for the last quarter of 1907 and 1st quarter of 1908 there are no matches. The closest I have got is a birth date of 15/12/1907, this certificate has other information on which I know is correct i.e. his fathers full name.

I am new to this so any help would be great, thank you.

Hi,
I would suggest that you send of for the birth cert. Then this will give you the fathers name, the mothers maiden name, fathers occupation, address at the time of birth. If all these tie in with what you have, then you can look for a marriage.
The marriage cert will usually give the bride and grooms fathers names and occupations. And their addresses at the time of marriage. BUT sometimes some of the info could be missing.
But getting these 2 certs are usually the best place to start.
A death cert will give some info, but it depends who the informant is, and how good their memory is.

Guess who on registering their father's death for registration gave the wrong place of birth. At least I hadn't started my family history at that time. At least that is my excuse !

It took me and my sister to get all the info right when we registered our mothers death.
As individuals, we would have got something wrong.
There are emotional reasons as well to consider, especially if the person being registered was a close member of the family.
