I still can't find out what ship my g-g-grandfather, Joseph Bannister Stow came to Australia on. Victorian Shipping couldn't help. I know he came in 1852-3 aged 22. I don't know were he embarked, either Kent or from Islington, Middlesex. he was a miner in England, so was there coal mines in either of those places.
Maybe he worked for his passage. How can I find out if he did?
Christine.

No! I still haven't found the name of the ship that Joseph Bannister Stow arrived on. He was aged 22 when he arrived, so it would have been 1852-3. I thought he may have gone via NZ. But no records there either. Mary Ann Fitzgerald, I think she arrived in 1849, on the bride ship Pembleton. It's hard to find proof.
