Don't you just love them - those with the many names that they use on a whim:confused:
In my tree I now have Cecil John George Gates born 1899 - so far so good:cool:
On the 1901 census he is shown as John Gates - just like his father!
Then on the 1911 census he is shown as George Gates:(
On his marriage in1921 he is still George Gates
At his death in 1954 he is once again Cecil John George Gates.

Hope you were all paying attention because it took some deep fishing to find that lot!
Strange thing is trees on Ancestry show no children and I found six of them:(

If you have a German line like I do then that is a common thing with three given names being rotated through the years and anglicized as well so it's like having 6 given names.

A bit like Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno.
