Looking for information on my ancestors named Whiteside of Ireland.

Samuel James Whiteside, son of Samuel James snr was born in County Antrim, Ireland on 23 April 1848. His mother name was Eliza/Elizabeth Leitch/Leech and she was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland. From the research I've done it appears Samuel jnr had siblings including Ann, Elizabeth and Mary Whiteside all born in Ballymena, Ireland.

Perhaps due to the lack of Irish information currently available I've been unable to trace back prior to Samuel snr who appears to have been born in Ballymena also.

There appears to be a possible link with James Whiteside who has a statue in Dublin Cathedral partly due to oral family history plus his uncanny resemblence to my late Grandfather.

Is anyone able to help?
