Who can sort these?

This is one of my FURNER family.

I know all the names but don't know who is who unless someone can sort them by age.

The parents are Owen FURNER (1828-1901) & spouse Elizabeth Anabella STORRIER (1836-1901).

They are my great great grandparents.

The youngest son must be the one at the front - Septimus Lindsay (1869-1929).

Which of the daughters is the youngest?

Lucky you Dave, what a beautiful photograph.
They are all well dressed too.
The man on far right standing, to me, looks younger than the one lounging in the front. He seems to have a blazer on with edging.
The woman next to Mother looks matronly, so I'm guessing the girl on the left is the youngest.
I hope someone else is of more help than I am.

The one at the front is the only one without a mo. That's why I picked him as the youngest.

The daughters are Alice Elizabeth (1863-1899) and Amy Olive (didn't marry) (1867-1949).

I'd go along with Alice the older one being near her mother.

I also think perhaps the eldest son is behind his mother.

I have two photos of one of the sons taken when he was much older and no other photos of the other four sons.

Let me provide a bit more detail. The head of the family in the 2nd photo is my great grandfather Frederick Owen. He is the middle one of the 5. They are:

Charles William 1858
Arthur George 1859
Fred 1861
Oswald Herbert 1865
Septimus Lindsay 1869


I think the eldest, Charles is the one behind his mother.

The one with a round face seems to be the one on the left.

I wonder if there was an 'etiquette' regarding where the family members stood.

e.g....parents first, then oldest to youngest fanning outwards.

Similar to wedding pictures.....bride & groom, parents etc........!!

I've been looking at the shape of the face and trying to find a match with Fred in the 2nd photo.

Eldest daughter near her mother and eldest son behind his mother.

2nd daughter and 2nd son near their father.

3rd and 4th sons left and right or right and left.
