Whilst trawling through some parish records looking for rellies, I came across this entry.

Baptisms. Princes Risborough Parish Records.

Baptism. 17th May 1752. Mary Lacey, daughter of Neighbour and Ann Lacey.


I wonder how many neighbours she had. And how would you trace the Daddy.

I now want to find out who Neighbour's father was, and see what the name is.

That was too easy, Neighbours father was called Joseph. Where on earth would he get the name Neighbour and baptise his son with it.

I think the mother was 'Home' and the father 'Away'.

I have seen ancestor with weird names such as Mary Christmas, Annette Curtain, Neil Down, Ben Dover and I have enev come across a baptism in 1830 for a baby whose first, middle and last names are identical to each other.

Just as an 'add on' to this poor man Neighbour, I found 2 Neighbour's in the 1851 census. I think I may have found his sons in The Wycombe Union Workhouse, born around 1816-1819.:'(
